Jennifer Harrington, MD

Dr. Jennifer Harrington of Harrington + Associates Plastic Surgery is a board-certified reconstructive and plastic surgeon who specializes in gynecological cosmetic surgery, helping women look and feel their best. Recognized as one of the best female plastic surgeons in the region, Dr. Harrington is well-known for providing exceptional surgical care alongside beautiful aesthetic results. From her office in Plymouth, Dr. Harrington serves the Twin Cities as well as outlying communities including Minnetonka, Wayzata, St. Cloud and Sartell.

Dr. Harrington has also shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota since 2000 and has provided care as Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 2006 at North Memorial Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.

Dr. Harrington’s Education & Training

Dr. Harrington began her training to become a plastic surgeon by earning Bachelor of Science and master’s degrees in biochemistry from the University of California at Riverside. She attended medical school at Loma Linda University in California before being selected for a general surgery residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She rounded out her formal training with a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota.

As a licensed plastic surgeon, Dr. Harrington passed additional, voluntary comprehensive exams designed to test her knowledge and skill to become board certified in 2001 through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. To maintain her certification and stay up-to-date about advancements in plastic surgery, Dr. Harrington pursues continuing education opportunities. She achieved re-certification in 2011 and has gone through training in microvascular and hand surgery.

Dr. Harrington belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Minnesota Academy of Plastic Surgeons, American Medical Society, Mayo and University of Minnesota alumni associations, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and American Medical Women’s Association.

Dr. Harrington quickly gained attention after starting her private practice in 2000 and has continued to garner state and national honors. She is a nationally recognized trauma health care specialist, has appeared as an expert in various national media outlets and has been named a “Top Doctor” by Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine each year starting in 2003, one of the “Best Doctors for Women” by Minnesota Monthly Magazine each year from 2006 to 2014 and received a “40 under 40” award from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal for 2003-2004.
